May 2023:
Lots in Art Academy London Fundraising Auction
Two of Gail's original artworks feature in a special fundraising auction for Art Academy London. AAL is an art college and charity that was founded by artists in 2000 on the principle that art and art education has the power to be transformative. Funds raised in the auction will allow the Academy to continue to support 30% of their academic students with bursaries, provide free spaces on their young artists’ programmes and drive their outreach workshops that help make art accessible to the community in Southwark. March-April 2023:
20x20 VISION, Blue House Yard
Gail's painting, Smoke and Pink Mat, is included in this exhibition curated by Jarelle Francis, bringing together pieces from over 50 artists working across a range of media with a fixed size of 20cm x 20cm. 16 March - 6 April, 11am-6pm. BigScreenPlaza, New York
Throughout February and March images of Gail's paintings can be seen on a 30 foot digital billboard overlooking a public plaza close to the Empire State Building in New York City. The curated exhibition combines the works of 15 international artists and features on the screen daily between 12:30-1pm. The plaza is free to access and more information can be found here.


December 2022:
SFSA Painting Open, No Format Gallery
Gail is delighted to be taking part in the SFSA Painting Open in Deptford from 2nd-11th December. Her work Pink City Doorway will be shown alongside a wide variety of paintings, each no bigger in size than 30cm. Shakespeare Art Trail, Bankside
Gail's artwork Exits and Entrances can currently be found on a large scale hoarding on Redcross Way, a few moments from Borough Market, as part of an immersive Shakespeare Trail celebrating the 25th anniversary of Shakespeare's Globe. Created by Better Bankside, the trail brings together a myriad of artists to interpret 25 Shakespeare quotes through 2D and 3D artworks which can be found nestled high and low around the Bankside neighbourhood. The self-directed trail, in situ until the end of September, is free and more information can be found here.


June/July 2022:
Horizon: Landscape and Beyond, The Cello Factory, Waterloo
Gail's painting Eastern Travel is included in a group exhibition curated by Alexander Hinks at the Cello Factory, London. Featuring 48 artworks which present contemporary artists’ interpretation, representation and abstraction of our surroundings through a multiplicity of mediums.

Gail is delighted to be working with HCA, leading mixed media workshops for carers in the community. These weekly sessions aim to inspire participants with mixed media techniques and offer a relaxed and creative way to make art together. Arts 4 Dementia is the official charity partner for the 2021 summer Affordable Art Fair in London and Gail is delighted to be one of 10 artists whose work Arts 4 Dementia will be presenting. 50% of sales from these artworks will go directly to the charity.

Atmos 13: Radical Manisfestations
Gail's collaborative video piece 'Pink City' will be shown as part of a screening of Archi-Shorts winning films at Atmos 13: Radical Manifestations, a symposium hosted by the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Manitoba, Canada. Archi-Shorts is a 2-minute film contest celebrating the narrative potential of places, real and imagined. The contest is part of Winnipeg’s annual Architecture + Design Film Festival. Class of 2020
Gail is delighted to be part of a celebratory, inclusive show, The Class of 2020, in artist Rod Kitson's The Art of Isolation unit at Surrey Quays Shopping Centre from 10-23 December.  The exhibition tells the story of 2020 through a response from over 160 artists.  Further details can be found here and the online catalogue is available here

Artwork shortlisted for Art Number 23 Open Contest III 2020
Gail is among 10 shortlisted artists for the Art Number 23 Open Contest prize, judged by an international panel from counties including Greece, UK, USA and China. Artwork on loan to St Mungo's Homeless Charity
Gail is delighted to be supporting St Mungo's by loaning an artwork to its recently refurbished hostel at Endsleigh Gardens, helping to bring colour to its communal spaces.

Urban Sunshine exhibited at Christie's Auction House
Gail's work has been exhibited at world renowned auction house Christie's by invitation from Art Academy London. Her large scale piece 'Urban Sunshine' featured at the Art Academy's fundraising dinner on 20th February alongside works by notable UK artists. Gail has an ongoing relationship with Art Academy London where she is a tutor for a range of drawing and painting classes.


January 2020:
London Bridge Hotel OPEN 3: Urban Nature
Art in London Bridge is waiting to be discovered in all kinds of interesting locations. This 3rd exhibition at London Bridge Hotel celebrates the works of local artists around the theme of Urban Nature and is curated and displayed across the hotel's lobby and lounge. Creating Pink City at Velorose Gallery
Gail and a team of multidisciplinary creatives spent 3 days in residence at Velorose Gallery, EC1, developing a film piece inspired by the gallery's geography and bespoke, multi-purpose architecture. Using geometric props, human movement, and projection of static and moving image, they created a richly layered and unpredictable environment celebrating the spaces and structures around them. London Bridge Hotel OPEN (London Festival of Architecture)

London Bridge Hotel is a former telephone exchange built in 1916 which is now surrounded by the equally stunning and evolving architecture of London Bridge. Two of Gail's paintings feature in this exhibition curated to reflect the contrast of historical and modern existing side-by-side and an array of approaches to architecture and design.

May 2019:
CHROMA exhibition at Velorose, EC1

View Gail's works 'Sputnik House 2' and 'Urban Scaffold' as part of this exhibition showing how works by better-known artists can sit cheek-by-jowl in a residential setting with those of up-and-coming, and less celebrated, artists.  Paintings, lithographs, photographs, volume poster prints, sculpture and objets d'art come together in a democratic and thematic way, connected as they are by colour.  The exhibition runs until 17th May.

Urban Counter project development day


Gail's Urban Counter multidisciplinary project kicked off in April with a collaborative day-long workshop at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Urban Concrete features in Saatchi Gallery Screen project

Selected artists' works are appearing on a loop with random rotation on the hi-resolution screen installed on the 2nd floor of the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea. Gail's piece 'Urban Concrete' will remain in the loop for the duration of the screen project.

Fundraising for Concrete and Shadows

Gail is currently fundraising for multi-disciplinary projects to work with a choreographer, dancers, and digital artists. The 'Concrete and Shadows' projects will transition the themes and motifs in her paintings into 3D and 4D space through an exploratory physical installation using architecture, film/projection and physical movement. Selected for FBA Futures 2018

Gail is exhibiting 'Urban Concourse' as part of FBA Futures, the Mall Galleries' exhibition showcasing 'outstanding art graduates of 2017' selected from across the country by members of the Federation of British Artists (FBA). Now in its seventh year, and featuring a mix of painting, sculpture and original prints, FBA Futures invites audiences to discover emerging figurative artists early-on in their careers. Works selected for ING Discerning Eye Exhibition

Two of Gail's paintings, 'Girl Walking' and 'Arches and Light', have been selected for this year's ING Discerning Eye Exhibition of small works at the Mall Galleries. Works have been independently selected by six prominent figures from different areas of the art world - two artists, two collectors and two critics - and the exhibition runs from Thursday 16 to Sunday 26 November, open daily 10am-5pm with free entry.

Shortlisted for Evening Standard Contemporary Art Prize 2017



Gail is excited to be shortlisted for the inaugural Evening Standard Contemporary Art Prize with her entry 'Urban Concrete'. The prize is for a painting which responds to the theme of 'London' and judges include artist Idris Khan, the Standard arts editor William Moore and critic and broadcaster Matthew Collings.

Gail is privileged to be based in London Bridge during September for a residency with Art Number 23. With an exceptional view out over the city, and in great company with a wide variety of other creatives in the building, she is excited to be developing new work informed by her immediate surroundings.

May 2017:
East End Movement wins the Hearts in Harmony Art Prize

Gail painted 'East End Movement' over the course of a charity fundraising festival day at Old Spitalfields Market to the theme 'The Heart of the East End'. It was chosen the winning entry by a judging panel including BAFTA and celebrity artist Lincoln Townley, Mark Harrison Creative Director at Ogilvy, and Conrad Carvalho Managing Director of art consultancy Oaktree & Tiger.

Hearts in Harmony who hosted the festival raises money for heart causes through art and music events. The works created during the festival will be available for sale later in the year to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital.


February 2017:
Dancing City & Urban Vibration shortlisted for the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize 2017

Gail is delighted to have two paintings shortlisted for this prestigious prize which encourages the very best creative representational painting and promotes the skill of draughtsmanship.

The exhibition of shortlisted works takes place at The Mall Galleries London (March 6-18), and then travels to Guildford House Gallery (March 25-April 22).
